For 2 seasons Chisenupuri Ski Area’s lifts have remained idle after Rankoshi Town decided to stop running the resort. It looks like the lift won’t be running again any time soon but….the ski area is under new management and the team will be offering cat skiing on what will essentially be a private mountain!!

Here is the basic information we have now from the Black Diamond Lodge & Tours Niseko Japan
We used to take professional athletes, and our lodge and tours guests to Rankoshi Town’s Chisenupuri ski area quite often. It was my go to place for the “real Japan hidden gem”. Everyone always gave rave reviews about the entire experience. The snow, the scenery and the hot spring all made it extra special, so it was truly disappointing to hear that the lift was past it’s limit and was closing forever two years ago…
We are proud to announce that JRT Trading (our parent company) was chosen to take over the lease from Rankoshi Town. While it will most definitely take a lot of hard work, funding and a number of years of research before we rebuild the lift, we will sincerely do all we can to help revitalize Rankoshi town through adventure tourism as soon as possible.
In the meantime, while the sustainability of a new lift is being decided, locals and foreigners will be able to ride our snow cats and experience Chisenupuri Powder once again. Stay tuned for more exciting news in the weeks to come!
