After the excitement of yesterday’s snowfall we decided it was time for an early start and a hike up Grand Hirafu Ski Ground to see how much snow had fallen overnight higher up on the mountain.
Another brilliant sunrise….

The light rain that was falling at village level but turned to snow at the top of the Alpen course.
In the snow line at around 700 meters!
The snow depth at the Ace Hill was about 2cm.
The resort has done a great job cutting back the grass on the courses which means skiing and snowboarding will be possible after the first big dump.
Grand Hirafu Ski Ground is scheduled to open on the 23rd of November.
