*0cm of fresh snow has fallen in the last 24hrs in Hirafu Village. At 7:00 today the temperature was -2°C.
Yesterday’s wild winds have calmed down at village level. The temperature is still relatively warm but the groomed runs will be in great condition this morning.
What is happening with the snow?
We decided to take a look at our figures from the last few years that we have been recording daily snowfall totals here in Niseko. This year’s February total of 186cm was well under previous years:
2012 – 351cm
2013 – 344cm
Delving again into our March data we can see that in 2012 we received only 81cm but in 2013 a solid 138cm. We can only hope for a big snowfall in March.
Who knows what will happen this year on in, but one thing is for sure….we are due for a bug dump!!
