After a day or so of snow higher up on the mountain late yesterday afternoon and throughout the night the Niseko region was treated to it’s first snowfall at “village” level. Here at the 360niseko HQ only slush to report but just up the road and only 50 meters in elevation – SNOW BABY!!
First Snowfall in Hirafu Village for the 2018-19 Season! from 360niseko on Vimeo.
The video and stills below were shot between 06:30 and 7:30. It is wet and soggy down low and “naga boots” are the go. Looks like it is still snowing higher up but from tomorrow for the next week temperatures look set rise again and most of the snow will no doubt disappear. Still, exciting to see fresh snow at lower elevations.
