The is no doubt that for locals the winter snow season is a long one. Grand Hirafu Ski Ground is still open everyday and for those still interested in skiing or boarding this means one thing: fantastic groomers!

Throughout the season early risers are rewarded with fresh tracks. At this time of the year the reward is first tracks on freshly groomed runs.

In the spring conditions it is not long before the consistency of the groomed runs changes but for the first hour or so smooth high speed groomed runs that you can sink an edge into are the order of the day. With very few people on the mountain is sometimes feels like skiing at a private resort. One of the the best places to open up and put in your best wide high speed carve is on the Jumbo course….wide open. BOSS!
