A lesser know fact to most people visiting Niseko during winter is that Hokkaido is blessed with excellent surfing conditions. Depending on the time of year it is possible to get to some great waves in under an hours drive from Niseko. With snow still on the peaks the water temperature is cold and thick wetsuits gloves and booties are a must.
As the summer weather takes hold board shorts and light wet suits replace the heavy duty rubber.
The Pacific coast line offers so much from picturesque beaches to laid back camping spots.
In towards the end of September the Typhoon season begins in southern Japan pushing up swell that transform usually flat spots.
By the time November arrives and temperatures plummet most people are waxing their skis or boards in anticipation of the first dump of legendary Niseko powder snow but for some the ocean still calls.

Something for everyone in and around Niseko!
