Snow stake at Soga, Niseko, 16 January 2021: 7 cm of new snow

7cm or more has fallen in the last 24 hours in Niseko. At 7:00 today the temperature was 3°C. We have warm conditions with a thick later of wet snow. It looks like it rained overnight. Cold conditions are set to return from this evening.A few words of caution. Be careful on the roads, take care around roof’s and under trees as huge chunks of snow will be coming down. Be very careful in the side and back country as the avalanche risk will also be very high today.
