19 cm of snowfall in Niseko over the last 24 hours. At 7:30 this morning the temperature was -8°C. Winter has returned! The 2025/26 season officially kicks off today with Grand Hirafu opening for the season.
We’re set for a couple of days of heavy snowfall, so hopefully a few more resorts will follow soon.
We were out of town for most of November, so our cumulative totals combine our own observations here in Higashiyama with snowfall reports from Snow Japan in Hirafu.
