*18.5cm of fresh snow has fallen since yesterday morning and at 7:45am today the temperature was -3° c. Today’s snow is about three times lighter than yesterday!

    great work guys, keep it up. Can you post a bigger picture of your snow gauge so as we can see where it is located etc. Do you guys clear the snow away each morning?

    • Hi Dean,

      We will do a post about the snow station, it’s in Hirafu village but we wanted to keep the location a little confidential so people don’t tamper with it!

      The snow is cleared off every time the reading is taken, if look in the spreadsheet (link in the post) you can see what time it has been done each day. We also take two other control readings from ground level and take a mean average. We are not far off the recognised standard for taking snow depth readings, we simply don’t round the numbers up or down!
