*28cm of fresh snow has fallen in the last 24hrs in Hirafu Village. At 7:00 today the temperature was 0°C.
The wild weather finally arrived yesterday and Niseko was hit gale force winds. All of the upper lifts were closed throughout the day however Grand Hirafu opened the gondola in the late afternoon – we have heard the “nighter’ was all time!
This morning the winds have settled down at village level and the heavy snowfall is coming straight down, chances are good the upper lifts will be running. There will be some extreme wind drifts and very deep sections out there so ride wisely and have fun!
Here is a nice video from Powdershots Niseko from the first week and a half of the season here in Niseko….it seems a lot longer than that!
