*17.5cm of fresh snow has fallen in the last 24hrs in Hirafu Village. At 7:15 today the temperature was -2°C.
Last night the first big blizzard for the season swept through the region and blasted everything with a fresh layer of snow. This morning the winds have dropped and it looks like the lifts should be running (don’t quote us on that though).
The strong NW winds will have created significant wind drifts so caution is advised. Make sure you are ski and board with friends if you are venturing off the groomed runs. Keep an eye on each other as there will be some very deep sections out there. Snowfall is expected for the next few days leading up to new year! Have a great weekend.
