*24cm of fresh snow as fallen in the last 24hrs in Hirafu Village. At 7:15 today the temperature was -10°C.
Today large snow flakes are lazily falling in the village and wind has died down. Yesterday afternoon at around 3pm snow started falling in such volume that it had to be seen to be believed – in a few hours we had around 15 cm of fresh super light powder snow. Today will be amazing up on the mountain!!
Last night on the 9pm NHK weather report the long range forecast for the next 2 months was released. It looks like the whole of Japan and especially Hokkaido is set for an unusually cold winter with heavy snow fall. Check out the Fuyu (winter) Shogun in the top left corner – look out!
