*41.5cm of fresh snow has fallen in the last 24hrs in Hirafu Village. At 7:00 today the temperature was -4°C.
The amazing snowfall has continued over the last 24 hours in the Niseko region and “light” snowfall is predicted for the remainder of the day. With the lifts now running across the resorts winter has well and truly arrived.
Since the recent continued snowfall from December 2nd we have recorded 115cm of accumulative snowfall! This is great for the region however please be aware that all this snow is sitting has very little base if any at all.
For anyone skiing or boarding please be aware that if you venture off any of the runs you will likely fall up to your armpits and get stuck in the deep undergrowth just below the surface.
Please take it easy out there and have fun but we suggest sticking to the courses and fringes of the runs – it is still too early to venture further afield.
