The non-believers and the naysayers were ready to write off the season after a few days of glorious sunshine (and a few less than glorious days). But long-time Niseko powder hounds know that just like death and taxes, you can count on powder days in Niseko! It was the second day in a row of reasonably heavy snowfall, with it still puking down while we were riding (there was a good 10cm on the car after being parked at the gondola for 2 hours this morning!).
While it wasn’t bottomless, it was certainly deeeeep, dry and super light – all fantastic ingredients for a good morning out on the mountain. Great way to spend this public holiday (Emperor’s Birthday).
But, enough with the words, have a look at some of the shots that Powdershots took in Grand Hirafu this morning.
