First Snowfall for the 2014-15 Season Hits Hokkaido

by | Sep 16, 2014 | News | 0 comments

Today the first snowfall for the 2014-15 season hit Asahi-dake Hokkaido’s tallest mountain at 2,290.9 m. This is know as Hatsuyuki 初雪 in Japanese.

The snowfall arrived 9 days earlier than average and 3 days earlier than last year.

A beautiful sight with the fresh snowfall creating a spectacular contrast against the autumn colours and blue sky.

With a cold October forecast for Hokkaido it won’t be long until we see Hatsuyuki on our beloved Mt. Yotei here in Niseko.

First tracks…..a little longer.
