There has been a lot of press about the volume of snow fall that fell in December 2011 and it’s possible a record or two has been broken! That’s great news for Niseko and we will do a little investigation to see what the official Japanese sources say.
Our own data shows a *mean average of 510cm has fallen during December 2011, it certainly was a lot of fun to ride but not so much fun to clear off the drive!
This chart shows the daily snow fall in Niseko throughout December 2011.

What’s happening today
It’s New Years Eve! We are off for first tracks at the Annupuri ski ground and with a bit of luck Gate 1 and Gate 2 will be open and have some powder stashes.
The rest of the days activities will include a relaxing onsen at Yukichichibu followed by eating a few of their onsen cooked eggs.
Weather permitting there will be fireworks going off in Annupuri, Hirafu and Niseko Village at about ten minutes before the New Year starts.
Wonder In This Winter Land
