Another weekend and another great cycling event in Niseko.
Last weekend the Rhythm Hirafu Cup was staged in the Grand Hirafu Mountain Bike Park.
Downhill Mountain bikers from all over Hokkaido arrived to ride for the 2 day event. Saturday was a practice day and allowed competitors to get used to the big changes to the course this year.
Teppei from Rhythm Cycles has radically transformed the trail this year with the addition of bridges, lots of digging and an enormous amount of cutting scrub out to create new lines down the mountain.
Sundays timed race took competitors around 6 minutes to make the descent and the King of the mountain was crowned.
The summer gondola and mountain biking course is open until the first weekend in October.
Rhythm Cycles have excellent rental downhill mountain bikes and can arrange saftey equipment, lift passes and guiding if required.
