First snowfall on Mt.Annupuri and Hirafu village

It is always a special time when the first snowfall coats the surrounding mountain peaks and eventually falls in Hirafu village. Yesterday’s cold snap produced some nice fresh accumulations on Mt.Yotei and by mid morning sleet and wet snow was falling on Mt.Annupuri. By mid afternoon the clouds parted revealing fresh snowfall below 1000 meters.
