Niseko Snow Report 2 December 2017

by | Dec 2, 2017 | News, Resort, Snow Reports, Winter Sports | 0 comments

*14cm has fallen in the last 24 hours in Niseko. At 6:30am today the temperature was -8.3°C.

Saturday in pow town. As you can see from the pic there is almost as much snow as yesterday and the march toward the fabled 20M Winter goes on. The whole mountain here in Niseko will link today (as long as the top lifts open) with the opening of Moiwa and Hannazono and it would not be a stretch to say conditions are as good as mid January last year. Last season was one of the lowest snowfall years in the time since they started keeping records and we already have almost a third of the annual snowfall last year had … happy days. The good folk at the Avalanche Report are also on deck now so make sure you check out what they have to say. The avie report is fantastic info and super entertaining to follow across the season.

Above: 14cm of the good stuff this morning.

360niseko Snow Station Readings Disclaimer

The 360niseko now has 2 snow stations for the 2017-18 in Higashiyama at 200m and 300m *The Hirafu Gondola is at 305m. Please be aware that this new reading is NOT in Hirafu village but a few kilometers down the road. There is always a deviation how and where the snow falls – the area is famous for micro climates and mini weather patterns. Some days there may be 10cm in Annupuri and 25cm in Hanazono and vice versa – some days 30cm of fresh snowfall comes down everywhere!! Altitude plays a big part as well so please don’t take the 360niseko snow readings as being definitive – the readings are what is outside our houses on the ground.
