*0.5cm has fallen in the last 24 hours in Niseko. At 7:00 today the temperature was 3°C. Warmer conditions have moved into the region but should only last today then the temperature drops back down. After the recent deluge of snow this is good thing as the base will solidify and create an excellent base layer for the remainder of the season. With 6 out of the next 7 days with snowfall in the forecast it will not doubt be a great week ahead.

The opening of the ski ground yesterday made a lot of people happy and many were out celebrating last night!
Beware – Jackets Disappear
Unfortunately there is nothing worse than a night out in Niseko than dangerously cold walk home with no jacket because yours has “disappeared”. Unfortunately this does happen in Hirafu and if you are here for the season or on holiday please put your jacket somewhere safe and keep an eye on it when you go out. There are no cloak rooms in most bars so you are responsible for your own possessions. Local businesses do what they can to make sure jackets don’t “disappear” but sadly….be warned. We saw this message this morning from Stuart Meldrum on the Niseko Sinter Staff 2016-17 Facebook page and hope his sweet jacket turns up!
Hey troops! Analog Innsbruck jacket “gone missing” from Amaru…its stolen, you can’t pick up that jacket without realising its not yours. I realise its “my fault” for leaving it.
Whoever stole it, then you stole a sweet jacket, that thing is perfect for Niseko, so warm and comfortable, a good amount of pockets, it would have been my jacket for everything, riding, pub etc. Congratulations.
DO NOT be seen in it, cause its mine. You think i can afford that @#@#?!
Any hints and tips appreciated. Full NCIS
*If you know where the jacket is please drop it off at Amaru or email info@360niseko.com – thanks.

360niseko Snow Station Readings Disclaimer
The 360niseko snow station is now in a new location for the 2016-17 between Hirafu and Higashiyama at 200m in altitude. There is 27m difference in altitude to last seasons position in lower Hirafu village 227m. *The Hirafu Gondola is at 305m. Please be aware that this new reading is NOT in Hirafu village but a few kilometers down the road. There is always a deviation how and where the snow falls – the area is famous for micro climates and mini weather patterns. Some days there may be 10cm in Annupuri and 25cm in Hanazono and vise versa – some days 30cm of fresh snowfall comes down everywhere!! Altitude plays a big part as well so please don’t take the 360niseko snow readings as being definitive – the readings are what is outside our house on the ground.
