*2cm of fresh snow has fallen in the last 24hrs in Hirafu Village. At 6:50 today the temperature was -1°C.
After a long unseasonably warm wait we finally have some fresh snow to talk about!
A strong cold front moved into the region last night bringing with it fresh snow and strong winds. The snowfall is expected to continue throughout the day and into Sunday. The wind is still strong this morning but hopefully the upper lifts will be running.
Spring Scenes
Since our last recorded snowfall on the 23rd of March and despite the warm conditions the snow base is still in great condition. At the peak we have seen the snow level drop from 385cm to 330cm and at the base 180cm down to 110cm.
With a month left of resort skiing there is still lots of snow to ski and board on here in Niseko.
