*11cm or more has fallen since 07:45 yesterday in Niseko. At 07:45 today the temperature was -5°C. A return to winter with a solid layer of snowfall overnight. The wind strength seems weak at this point but is expected to increase through the day as the temperature slowly drops. By midday we can expect heavy snowfall. Yesterdays rain has made the snowpack very wet and with fresh snowfall falling on top we have a nasty “sandwich” of pow on top with wet cement on the bottom. At lower elevations and around town this will cause all sorts of issues so take care out there today. Higher up on the mountain conditions should be fun 😉 The forecast looks great from lots of snowfall fro the remainder of the week!

360niseko Snow Station Readings Disclaimer
The 360niseko’s snow station for the 2022-23 season is in Higashiyama at 200m *The Hirafu Gondola is at 305m. Please be aware that this new reading is NOT in Hirafu village but a few kilometers down the road. There is always a deviation how and where the snow falls – the area is famous for micro climates and mini weather patterns. Some days there may be 10cm in Annupuri and 25cm in Hanazono and vice versa – some days 30cm of fresh snowfall comes down everywhere!! Altitude plays a big part as well so please don’t take the 360niseko snow readings as being definitive – the readings are taken from what is outside our house on the ground.
