*12.5cm of fresh snow has fallen in the last 24hrs just outside of Hirafu Village. At 7:00 today the temperature was -4°C.
Another nice top up of snow in the last 24hrs. The only drawback is the wind. Presently the wind doesn’t see too bad at village level but it remains to be seen what the conditions will be like higher up. Yesterday all of the upper lifts were closed and that is likely again today. There is a extreme weather alert in place from the afternoon when the winds are expected to reach gale force between 30 and 35 meters a second! The good news is the wind will moderate by tomorrow.
