*14.5cm of fresh snow has fallen in the last 24hrs in Hirafu Village. At 7:00 today the temperature was -16°C.
This mornings clear skis have produced the coldest morning of the the season with the temperature at -16! It is awesome to see Mt.Yotei this morning after weeks of not being able to!
Cold temperatures and intermittent snowfall is predicted to continue into next week.
We have heard reports of a avalanche in the back bowl of the peak of Mt.Annupuri yesterday with 3 people being buried. Great to hear that there were no fatalities. Please read today’s avalanche report for more information.
Bear in mind that anyone venturing through the gates does so at their own risk and must be prepared for the worst case scenario – unfortunately accidents do happen.
