*4.5cm of fresh snow has fallen in the last 24hrs in Hirafu Village. At 7:40 today the temperature was 1°C.
After yesterdays amazing conditions all over the mountain today is a different story. Temperatures have increased with wet snowfall overnight which has created a heavy layer of crunchy ice around the village. Winds are expected to increase throughout the day with a blizzard expected to arrive around midday. Skiing conditions may be more favorable higher up on the mountain so suggest getting up high before the blizzard arrives. None of the gates are expected to open and caution is advised as conditions will be variable. Please take care out there today.
