*23.5cm of fresh snow has fallen in the last 24hrs in Hirafu Village. Niseko is starting to groan under the weight of all the snow that has come down and today we definitely experiencing SNOWMAGGEDON! Visibility is limited to around 50 meters and there are super deep snow drift everywhere. Quite a bit of work will be required by most people to just get out of their houses. Cars are buried, snow clearers are snuggling to clear the roads and all the while it just keeps on dumping.
Looks like the wind isn’t too bad but it remains to be seen at higher elevations. Expect super deep conditions up there and look out for your fellow boarders and skiers because there will no doubt be lot’s of people floundering around in the ethereal deep pow! Oh by the way the snow is not forecast to stop for the next week – ha ha!
