*14cm or more has fallen since 07:45 yesterday in Niseko. At 7:45 today the temperature was -4°C. The snow has just kept coming. The has dropped off and fat flakes have been falling on an off and Niseko has been transformed into a winter fantasy land.
Opening Day?
The bad news: Despite the excellent snowfall both Grand Hirafu and Niseko Hanazono will not be opening as planned die to insufficient snowfall. Niseko Village has not updated their social media so who knows.
The good news: Niseko Annupuri will be opening!!
“The Nisekoan Pre International Ski Resort has been decided to open the mountain base division on December 3rd (Sat).
Operational lift is the Dream 1 Quad Lift and the sliding course will be a beginner course in the mountain base section.”

360niseko Snow Station Readings Disclaimer
The 360niseko’s snow station for the 2022-23 season is in Higashiyama at 200m *The Hirafu Gondola is at 305m. Please be aware that this new reading is NOT in Hirafu village but a few kilometers down the road. There is always a deviation how and where the snow falls – the area is famous for micro climates and mini weather patterns. Some days there may be 10cm in Annupuri and 25cm in Hanazono and vice versa – some days 30cm of fresh snowfall comes down everywhere!! Altitude plays a big part as well so please don’t take the 360niseko snow readings as being definitive – the readings are taken from what is outside our house on the ground.
