Niseko Snow Report, 9 April 2023

by | Apr 8, 2023 | 22/23, Snow Reports | 0 comments

*o.5cm or more has fallen in the last 24hrs in Niseko. At 07:30 today the temperature was 4°C. Overnight we have had a mixture of rain and snow. At higher elevations there should be some fresh turns to be had. This looks like the last chance to get fresh slush so drop everything and get up there is you are in Niseko! The resorts now have limited lift operations so choose your location wisely.

It has be a fun spring with lots of warm weather and sunshine. However it has to be said for snowfall it has been abysmal with only 9cm of accumulated snowfall. NINE CENTIMETERS. With no spring pow the plug was pulled early this year for powder lovers. This has been the lowest snowfall for March since 360niseko stated recording snowfall in 2011-12 season.

The show goes on. Have a great day.

360niseko Snow Station Readings Disclaimer

The 360niseko’s snow station for the 2022-23 season is in Higashiyama at 200m *The Hirafu Gondola is at 305m. Please be aware that this new reading is NOT in Hirafu village but a few kilometers down the road. There is always a deviation how and where the snow falls – the area is famous for micro climates and mini weather patterns. Some days there may be 10cm in Annupuri and 25cm in Hanazono and vice versa – some days 30cm of fresh snowfall comes down everywhere!! Altitude plays a big part as well so please don’t take the 360niseko snow readings as being definitive – the readings are taken from what is outside our house on the ground.
