Niseko first tracks..?
It’s October and soon the Route 66 mountain pass to Iwanai will be closed due to snow, so early this morning I took the chance to walk the Ooyachi trail through the marsh and up to lake Onuma. The lake is at an elevation of 850m and there I found what could loosely be described as snow to make the first tracks in!

By the time I returned to Hirafu Glen had got a great shot of the Mt. Annupuri peak showing through the clouds with the first snow seen on it this year.
