It was great today to be able to pose the question, ” Which is better early season powder turns or late season powder turns?” With low exceptions managed to get on the Hirafu Gondola at 8:30 and headed up again on the Hooded quad and was pleasantly surprised to find a firm yet soft later of snow between 10 and 20cm deep sitting on hard pack snow. After careful riding and gauging the conditions was actually able to get some speed and hack away on some sweet fresh snow. YES!
