Mt.Iwaonupuri & Beyond – 5th June
Many of you Niseko lovers out there may be wondering how much snow is left in Niseko, what does it look like in summer? Well here are a bunch of shots taken this week to fill in a few of the gaps. The first series of images were taken on Monday the 5th of June hiking Mt.Iwaonupuri on the other side of Mt.Annupuri from Niseko. The hike is not too hard but not that easy either…best to be properly equipped with good hiking boots, poles etc. The hike takes around an hour both ways but allow for double that if you are not that fit. Not a trail for kids. That being said it is an awesome hike and good “warm up” hike for some of the longer more adventurous hikes in the region.
Regional Perspective Shots – 9th June
These last 3 shots were taken yesterday. This is arguably one of the best times of year with temperate climate, clear skies and the green season exploding into being. Farmers fields are growing quickly turning green, golf courses are majestic, hiking trails are open. There are so many things to do including cycling, sightseeing, surfing, rafting, sea kayaking, Stand up Paddle boarding, BBQing to name but a few. So, if you are visiting the area this summer there is no shortage of things to do and if you live in Niseko make sure you get out there and enjoy it.
