It works on a hourly rate, so you can play as many sports and games, and do as many activities (excluding bowling – that is a separate fee) as you want, and then pay when you leave depending on how long you spent inside.

When you arrive at Leisure Sports for the first time, you’re required to register. This is done on some automatic terminals, however it is all in Japanese – so either go with someone who is comfortable with basic written Japanese, or hope that a shop attendant is able to help you. You will also need to show ID, so either bring your passport (which you’re supposed to have on you under Japanese law) or your Alien Registration card – they will take a copy. This process only needs to happen the first time, successive visits are much more streamlined.

Once you’ve checked in, you’re basically free to run around the two large floors to your heart’s content. Some of the activities, like Segway riding, or rock climbing, or the mechanical bull require you to contact an employee first as you will have to wear safety equipment.

When you eventually get tired, there are even massage chairs to chill out in. And, if that isn’t enough, downstairs there is an enormous onsen (separate entrance fee).

It is located in the north-eastern suburbs of Sapporo, access can be a little difficult without access to a car. However, Leisure Sports do run a free shuttle bus service between Sapporo Station – http://www.hku.co.jp/ls-big/higashinaebo/bus-top.html
