This morning was not an auspicious start to the long weekend here in Niseko…..rain.

The rain stopped mid morning and we ventured up for some afternoon turns in Niseko Grand Hirafu Ski Ground.

We were hoping to make it over to Niseko Village Ski Ground which has re-opened for the next week and a half and possibly Niseko Annupuri Ski Ground but were unable due to poor visibility and strong winds. There was a nice 3-5cm layer of fresh snow above 1000m and tomorrow looks set to be much better! If you are heading up for some turns remember to apply some warm wax as the snow was sticky higher up especially on the un-groomed section of Rinkan ski run.
