Spring Glory

Yesterday may well have been the last of the spring powder for the 2013/14 season but you never know stranger things have happened.

Yesterday hopes were high for some bottomless turns after 2 days of decent snowfall and the upper mountain also being closed due to strong winds. On the lower part of the mountain the wind wasn’t too bad and there were great lines to be had around the King Triple Hooded lift and Rinkan.

Higher up on the mountain the wind was still an issue but eventually the peak gates opened around 10:30 and the hunt for spring pow was on.

The ride down was a lot of fun but unlike winter when it is possible to sink in your edges you had to be careful of patchy coverage and patches of ice.

With just under a month left of resort riding and lots of snow left with 110cm at the base and 330cm at the peak the good times aren’t over yet!
