Many people coming to Hokkaido for a holiday often allocate a couple days sightseeing in one of the bigger cities on the main island of Japan Honshu.
Tokyo, which is always a fantastic city to visit, has an incredible new attraction – Toyko SKYTREE – the tallest free standing tower in the world.
Tokyo SKYTREE opened to the public in May and literally towers over all other structures in Tokyo at 634m. The SKYTREE and has 2 viewing platforms open to the public. The first platform is at 350m and the 2nd platform wraps around the tower at a slight incline a full 360 degrees while ascending approximately 75m to the highest point of the platform at 450m.
Reserving tickets online is recommended [reservations are only possible with credit cards issued in Japan]. The SKYTREE is very popular and queuing for admission can take some time but the views are well worth the wait!
